DeNexus Welcomes Scott Frederick to Its Board of Directors to Advance Global Cyber Risk Quantification Strategy

DeNexus, the leading provider of evidence-based cyber risk quantification and management solutions for industrial and critical infrastructure organizations, today announced the appointment of Scott Frederick to its Board of Directors. 

Scott Frederick is a seasoned venture capitalist and business leader with three decades of experience driving growth at the intersection of technology, finance, and data analytics. Most recently, he served as a Managing Partner at Sands Capital, an investment management firm with over $59 billion AUM. 

Before Sands Capital, a Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), one of the oldest and largest venture capital firms in the world, with over $25 billion AUM. At NEA, Scott led NEA’s business development and Federal initiatives. 

Earlier in his career, Scott co-founded Valhalla Partners, a venture capital firm managing $440 million in assets, and served as a Partner at FBR Technology Venture Partners (FBRTVP). At FBRTVP, he played a key role in shaping one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most successful venture funds, contributing to seven IPOs and a return of approximately nine times invested capital. 

Beyond investment leadership, Scott has been actively involved in strengthening the startup ecosystem as a former Director of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) and co-founder of the Young Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (YAVA), where he served as President and Chairman. 

Scott earned his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School (cum laude) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University (magna cum laude), where he was an A.B. Duke Scholar.
